Anything physical that you can do, including cardio, will help to get you prepared for your first lesson. Aerial work really targets the upper body and core, however, so putting more of your focus on those areas will be a boon to your training in the long run. For core work, hollow body holds or leg lifts will help you, and for upper body pull ups are hands down the most helpful training you can do. If you can’t do pull ups, try horizontal rows! It’s really important to make sure that every exercise you do you’re doing with proper form and engagement to prevent injury.

Leggings and long sleeves are best! Stretchy fabric that hugs the body is best to avoid clothes getting tied up in the silks and/or clothes inching up and exposing skin to the fabric. No one likes a fabric burn. You may wear socks, but know they make climbing a little more challenging!

Other than our classes being quite addicting, you should not wear lotion or oils on your hands, body, and legs the day of class. Sweating will release the lotion/oils back to the surface and can easily transfer to the fabric. Please refrain from applying fragrance as many are sensitive. Rings, watches, and bracelets are also not allowed so leave your jewelry at home. We are not responsible for lost items.
