FAQs
What Should I Wear?
Leggings and long sleeves are best! Stretchy fabric that hugs the body is best to avoid clothes getting tied up in the silks and/or clothes inching up and exposing skin to the fabric. No one likes a fabric burn. You may wear socks, but know they make climbing a little more challenging!
Is There A Changing Room In The Studio?
There are no changing rooms in the studio, but please come dressed in the proper attire! The bathrooms are utilized by three different studios/gyms. There are cubbies for your personal belongings. There are NO showers on premises.
What If I Show Up Late? Can I Still Join The Class?
You are required to show up at least 5 minutes ahead of class. For safety purposes we will not be able to let you in late. Be here early enough to be ready to start class on time.
What Should I Bring To Class?
You should always bring a water bottle to class, however we do have drinking fountains at the studio. Don’t bring belongings that shouldn’t be in the studio that take up space or cause a distraction.
What If I Miss A Class?
At this time, I am unable to run any additional classes for makeups. Please do your best to show up for the classes you sign up for. If you are able to contact me ahead of time to let me know you won’t make it, I will be sure to reschedule you, or refund you for the class. If you don’t show up for class, I will still charge you for the spot that was held for you.
There are occasions where I will have to cancel classes. I am a mom first, then doula, then coach, there will be times (not often) I need to cancel for family or because I'm attending a birth. If I have to cancel, I will individually contact you and reschedule or refund you for the class that was missed. I will do my best to give at least a 24 hour notice of cancellation.
What Else Should I Know?
Other than our classes being quite addicting, you should not wear lotion or oils on your hands, body, and legs the day of class. Sweating will release the lotion/oils back to the surface and can easily transfer to the fabric. Please refrain from applying fragrance as many are sensitive. Rings, watches, and bracelets are also not allowed so leave your jewelry at home. We are not responsible for lost items.
Do I Need Any Experience
Nope! You will learn everything you need to know in our classes. And keep in mind, we all had to begin with level 1! Also, take advantage of any of our conditioning exercises, as they will make a huge difference in getting stronger and ready for the next level!
I Have No Upper Body Strength… Will That Be A Problem?
Nope! But you're about to get some real fast! Our classes are proven to get you strong from head-to-toe, and there is no reason to think you need to get some upper body strength before you try a climb!
I’m Really Excited For My First Class! What Should I Do To Prepare?
Anything physical that you can do, including cardio, will help to get you prepared for your first lesson. Aerial work really targets the upper body and core, however, so putting more of your focus on those areas will be a boon to your training in the long run. For core work, hollow body holds or leg lifts will help you, and for upper body pull ups are hands down the most helpful training you can do. If you can’t do pull ups, try horizontal rows! It’s really important to make sure that every exercise you do you’re doing with proper form and engagement to prevent injury.
